38th ACAL 2007 & 11th ALTA 2007 Conference

The joint meeting of the 38th Annual Conference of African Linguistics (ACAL) and the 11th Annual African Language Teachers’ Association (ALTA) conference will be hosted by the Center for African Studies in collaboration with the Department of African and Asian Languages and Literatures and the Linguistics Department at the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, USA. The respective themes are Linguistic Theory and African Language Documentation, and African Language Pedagogy and Media.
 
Keynote speakers are Herman Batibo (University of Botswana), Sonja Fagerberg Diallo (Associates in Research & Education for Development -Dakar), and Laura Downing (Zentrum für allgemeine Sprachwissenschaft-Berlin).

NOTE:  This conference requires pre-registration; however, payments can be made onsite. When you register, please select the payment option "invoice" and indicate in the Special Needs box that you will pay upon arrival.
