Driver and Traffic Safety

General Information
Purpose
To provade participants with instructional strategies necessary to provide driver and traffic safety education programs that fully implement the performance standards required of students taking either of the two courses adopted by the Department of Education. Participants will gain experience in the organization, administration, and teaching techniques of driver education. These techniques include hands on teaching in simulation, off-street multiple car range, as well as dual control street teaching.
Format
The workshop will be organized into three separate week long activities. The first week will cover the course content and requirement for HSC 4450 (Driver and Traffic Safety Education I). The second week will cover the content for HSC 4451 (Driver and Traffic Safety Education II). The third week will cover the content for HSC 4905 (Organization and Administration of Driver and Traffic Safety Education ). You may take one, two or three depending on certification needs.
Full endorsement to teach driver and traffic safety can be accomplished by taking all three courses for college credit.

Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be received in writing by mail, fax or email. Registration fees less $75 will be refunded upon receipt of written request by June 1, 2009. Refund requests made after that time will not be honored, and the participant or sponsoring organization will be responsible for the fee. Anyone who is registered but cannot attend may send a substitute.
