Gallery of Multiphase Flow

The Gallery of Multiphase Flow will showcase original images and videos submitted by participants of the meeting. It will be modeled after the “Gallery of Fluid Motion”, which has been a feature of the APS Division of Fluid Dynamics meetings for many years.

• Entries for the Gallery must be preceded by an “Intention to Submit” form.
• An intention to submit must be received before February 19th 2010 – this applies to both posters and videos.
• Participants must have already registered in order to submit a poster or video to the Gallery.
• The deadline for the final version of a video submission is March 5th 2010.
• Instructions for submitting videos will be sent after the form is received.

Poster Instructions

Format

• Size 4 feet x 4 feet. One-half of an 8-foot long x 4-foot high foam core board and pushpins will be provided.

Content

• Posters should contain photographs and/or graphics along with brief explanatory text and the names and affiliations of all authors.
• Multiple entries by the same authors must contain different artwork.

Logistics

• The Gallery will be located in the foyer outside the Grand Ballroom.
• Posters must be placed in the Gallery by Monday evening.
• Posters will be judged on Wednesday.
• Posters must be removed by Thursday evening.
• At least one co-author must attend the meeting.

Video Instructions

Format

• Videos should be submitted in MP4 format, using the 720p HDTV video mode.
• The resolution should be 1280x720 with a frame rate of 30 FPS.
• The video should not contain any soundtrack.
• Videos should contain a 2 second blank leadin.

Content

• Videos for the gallery of fluid motion should contain significant physics and be aesthetically appealing.
• Videos should run for less than 3 mins and have no sound track. Any information needed to describe the video should be included as text.

Logistics

• Deadline for submission of the final video is March 5th 2010.
• At least one co-author must attend the meeting.
