A: How about 43 MILLION reasons?
The Florida Coordinated Transportation System provides over 43,000,000 rides annually. The system is represented by a Community Transportation Coordinator in each county. Over 400 subcontractors service this system across a wide variety of goods and services: vehicles, uniforms, maintenance programs, planning and operational software, insurance, collision repair, communication systems, first aid kits, wheelchairs, stretchers, vehicle parts, and consulting services. There are virtually unlimited opportunities to interact with these subcontractors, the community transportation coordinators, state planners and other agency officials. Capital funds are made available by the Commission as another way to generate vendor support for vehicles and computers, etc.
