Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged

17th Annual Transportation Training and Technology Conference

Aug. 17-20, 2009

Welcome

The Florida Commission for the Transportation Disadvantaged invites you to join us in Lake Buena Vista, FL for an opportunity to exchange ideas and gain an increased perspective on how to most effectively increase awareness and the continuing needs of our Florida’s most vulnerable residents. We will explore how community leaders can be equipped with the managerial tools necessary for supporting TD initiatives in the 21st century. Conference attendees will participate in sessions devoted to new technologies and review meaningful ways to educate government officials on community transportation needs.

We will anticipate a successful and well attended conference that features special sessions aimed at expanding and energizing the field. We strongly encourage the participation of State and Local Policy Makers, Metropolitan, County and Regional Planning Staff, Paratransit Systems and Fixed Route Transportation Systems as well as Vendors from transportation, technology and service providers to TD. The Walt Disney Area, known for its futuristic transportation, is an ideal setting for the August 17-20, 2009 conference. My staff and I look forward to welcoming you.

Sincerely,

Bobby Jernigan, Acting Executive Director
